Another character feature tonight, as the end of the first draft looms. Cath, Ed’s wife, is the guest of honour this evening.

What can I say about her? Loyal, reliable, caring, long-suffering? Certainly the latter! Cath is a plain-looking, but still attractive, female of medium size. She is of Welsh origin herself, but is not a native Welsh-speaker. She came from Newtown, Powys way originally. Like Ed, she is great friend of Patrick, having known him for as long as she has been married to Ed. She moved with her husband to Llanberis from Machynlleth when there was a need for good engineers with a flair for inventiveness to restart the power station.

Her immensely caring and tolerant nature means she can handle someone with Ed’s brilliant eccentricity. However, her mettle is tested to the extreme by a sudden ominous turn of events later on.

Until the next time….

About Owen Law

My pen-name is ‘Owen Law’ (real name: Nicholas Davies.) I’m a science fiction writer specialising in dystopian/apocalyptic visions of the future. I’m from Shropshire, England (on the borders with Wales) and I’m in my forties. I have a background in public services and training. I’ve been working on my first novel, Dragon Line, since 2008. I’ve also written several short stories, one of which you can find on this blog (‘Matilda Leviathan‘). I now reside on the border of Shropshire and Wales, and my interests include writing (of course!), current affairs and environmental issues.
