Still working towards that all important end-goal, the completion of the first draft. My, it’s a long old book! I hope you enjoy reading this epic as much I am writing it, if and when it ever gets published!

In the meantime, just to whet your appetite a little further, here’s the penultimate character feature. Today, I introduce the formidable General Mandeville, who makes a minor appearance towards the beginning of the book. As a senior officer in the Ironside army, he is definitely as grim and uncompromising as he appears to be. Having served previously in the British Army until the time of the Collapse, he transferred his loyalty to Cromwell in the aftermath, in much the same way as Masters did. His appearance is very much like a cross between modern British Army soldier and civil war officer.

As stated above, his portrayal is fairly brief, but his reputation and presence is referred to later on in the story. What exactly what would that entail? We shall see……

Until the next time…..

About Owen Law

My pen-name is ‘Owen Law’ (real name: Nicholas Davies.) I’m a science fiction writer specialising in dystopian/apocalyptic visions of the future. I’m from Shropshire, England (on the borders with Wales) and I’m in my forties. I have a background in public services and training. I’ve been working on my first novel, Dragon Line, since 2008. I’ve also written several short stories, one of which you can find on this blog (‘Matilda Leviathan‘). I now reside on the border of Shropshire and Wales, and my interests include writing (of course!), current affairs and environmental issues.
