I'm back from holiday (missing it already!) – and I've been busy! Despite still suffering somewhat with my affliction, I was able to get out and about a bit with the camcorder. That means I've been able to produce some more location features. So here's the next in the series: the Railway Bridge on the Aberglaslyn Pass, Beddgelert.
At present this is combined rail and foot bridge across the Glaslyn river, part of a small steam route that's been re-opened here recently (when I first visited this site some years ago, they were still renovating it.) Why is this featured in the novel, I hear you ask? Well, in my future post-apocalypse scenario the railway becomes disused again. Then, the bridge becomes a border marker between two opposing Welsh militias. Both have been feuding for some years.
As well as being a 'demarcation point', its also a place where two major characters meet to resolve this long running dispute. That is, the main character Patrick and the leader of the Tywysogyon, Madog. Listen to the video to learn some more about this place (also, check out below for a little extra footage!)
Whilst I was there and before I shot the main footage, I was fortunate enough to film the train as it went past! Nice little feature to end on!
Until the next video…
PS Many thanks to Tim and Jay for giving me some excellent feedback on the last post! Cheers Guys!
