Article Feature – Nuclear Build is 'Essential Objective' on 'Bloomsberg'

So the UK’s coalition government has changed its tune has it? As I recall, the Lib Dem Energy Minister Chris Huhne was dead set against Nuclear Power stations, but now seems to have changed his tune. I think this bears out what James Lovelock said, that the only way that we are going to offset rising energy demands against the need for reducing carbon emissions is to build more of these (sorry, Green Lobby!) After all, alternative energy production in the form of wind farms and solar cells is never going to take up the slack. To be honest, it’d be a drop in the ocean. And now with the possible onset of Peak Oil, this is going to probably be even more imperative.

This article on Bloomsberg includes an interview with Mr Hunhe about this new policy direction. To read, it click on the link below:

Nuclear Build Is ‘Essential Objective’, UK Climate Secretary Huhne Says by Kari Lundgren, Bloomsberg

In my novel, one of the major causes of collapse of the National Grid is the lack of investment in new power stations in the UK. Lets hope this’ll reduce the chances of a situation like this emerging!
