Transition

A brief post here tonight, directing you to an article by Wendy Elliot on Peak Oil and Transition. If you are convinced by the arguments regarding Climate Change and Peak Oil, perhaps you might be wondering if there is a positive response to the problem that might not involve politicians taking action (seeing as most people think they’re a waste of time anyway!) Or maybe you’re wondering how we could survive, not just individually but as whole communities? In that case, you might find the Transition Town network of interest – which takes a bottom-up approach to the problem (if you’ll forgive the innuendo!)

Transition reminds me of the approach taken by the fictional residents of Llanberis in my novel. Maybe it could be very positive route to ensuring something like the ‘Dragon Line’ scenario doesn’t happen!

I’ll let the article speak for itself – click here to read it.

About Owen Law

My pen-name is ‘Owen Law’ (real name: Nicholas Davies.) I’m a science fiction writer specialising in dystopian/apocalyptic visions of the future. I’m from Shropshire, England (on the borders with Wales) and I’m in my forties. I have a background in public services and training. I’ve been working on my first novel, Dragon Line, since 2008. I’ve also written several short stories, one of which you can find on this blog (‘Matilda Leviathan‘). I now reside on the border of Shropshire and Wales, and my interests include writing (of course!), current affairs and environmental issues.
